National Prayer Breakfast

Student Weekend

What:
The National Prayer Breakfast is an annual gathering in Washington, D.C., which draws 3,500 people from all over the world. During this event, the President of the United States, representatives from more than 120 nations, leaders from all areas of the United States Government, and individuals from various walks of life come together. In early February, a group of students who attended the previous National Student Leadership Forum are invited to attend the National Prayer Breakfast as part of the student contingent for this event. After the Breakfast, students go away together for a weekend retreat nearby to build deeper relationships with one another, to engage in deeper discussions of the leadership principles taught by Jesus, and to further process through their experience at the Prayer Breakfast by exploring what it would look like to live reconciled lives.

When:
Student events will commence on the evening of Wednesday, February 3rd and continue through the evening of Thursday, February 4th. The 2016 Student Weekend will be held the weekend immediately following the National Prayer Breakfast: February 5-7, 2016.

How:
Students must receive an invitation to attend the National Prayer Breakfast & Student Weekend. This event is much smaller than the National Student Leadership Forum and can only accommodate 80 students. Nominations open for the NPB in early November.

Who:
Over 3,500 people will attend the National Prayer Breakfast including the President of the United States, Members of Congress, and others listed above. The small group of student leaders who receive invitations are selected from those who have attended the previous National Student Leadership Forum.
